I started my career as a therapist working with children and adolescents and moved on to work for various NHS trusts in IAPT psychological services with adults experiencing a variety of anxiety and mood disorders. I trained in 1997 as an EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) trauma therapy to help individuals cope with traumatic experiences. Both CBT and EMDR have been found to be helpful for individuals with chronic issues resulting from trauma.

Christine Latham a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Accredited EMDR Therapist currently working towards Consultancy with over 19 years’ experience of providing professional and confidential support for people with a wide range of difficulties across a range of ages.

As well as working in my own practice I continue to work in the NHS as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist /EMDR Therapist in an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Medicine) service.

I offer all clients a comprehensive assessment and formulation, before moving on to work on collaborative goals. Regular reviews are incorporated into the therapy programme to ensure ongoing progress, and include time spent on an individual relapse prevention plan. Issues surrounding the primary difficulty, such as low self-esteem and relationship difficulties are also addressed.

Often at times our experiences cause us to feel stuck, stagnant, and unable to progress to the next stage in our life. I can help you overcome your difficulties and help to provide building blocks, and tools to help catapult you to the next stage in your life. We are all passengers on the train of life and with help, we can all reach our destination.

I provide face to face therapy , assessments, and consultations or remotely through Zoom.
